It’s no secret that the Lamborghini Gallardo, junior sibling to the crazy-quick/expensive Murcielago, enters its final year of production in 2014. What’s lesser known, and what Driving Fans has unearthed, is that its successor will be named the Cabrera LP600 and will arrive for the 2015 model year. The new all-wheel-drive Lambo will share its aluminum chassis with the next-generation 2016 Audi R8 (both Audi and Lamborghini are Volkswagen-owned). Reportedly it will also feature a mid-mounted 600-horsepower V10 engine, up 50 horsepower from the Gallardo’s 550. A seven-speed paddle-shift manual transmission will be used, replacing the six-speed version. About 200 big ones should cover the entry fee, thinks Driving Fans.
