With the Lamborghini Gallardo’s participation in the single-make Gallardo Super Trofeo series, it’s practically a given that some of the advancements made for the track will make their way to the street. Say hello to the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. This limited-edition model becomes the “most extreme” model in the Gallardo family when it goes on sale in Europe shortly.
Named for Lamborghini’s motorsports department, the Squadra Corse shares the racing Gallardo’s 570-horsepower V10, downforce-generating carbon composite rear wing and quick-release engine cover. These weight-saving measures shave 70 kilograms from the curb weight and trim a few tenths from the acceleration times. A carbon-ceramic braking system is standard. The Gallardo Squadra Corse shares its six-speed e-gear transmission with the track-bound Gallardo as well.
The exterior of this limited-edition Lambo features an Italian-flag colored decal stripe, and a choice of yellow, red, white and gray body colors. Details are painted gloss black, with a choice of red, black or yellow brake calipers visible through the nineteen-inch lightweight wheels. Inside, carbon fiber and Alcantara decorate the cockpit.
The Gallardo Squadra Corse is priced at € 191,100; there’s no word on U.S. pricing or if it will even make it across the pond.
