With the gates of SEMA due to open tomorrow, Chrysler’s let a bit more information slip about the Mopar-modified vehicles that were teased in photos last week. Driving Fans is happy to fill in the details: the partial images published last week were of the Ram Sun Chaser, Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver, Fiat 500L Adventurer and Chrysler 300S. These are just four of the twenty vehicles Mopar’s bringing to Las Vegas, representing all five of Chrysler’s brands. Many of the modifications to these vehicles come straight from Mopar’s catalog of aftermarket parts.
The Ram Sun Chaser is a beach rig that would be the envy of the cast of Baywatch. The orange and black pickup features a custom longboard rack for carrying multiple surf boards, a portable exterior shower and a flip-up seatback tailgate. Beadlock wheels, a two-inch lift, tow hooks and a spray-on bedliner provide durability and off-road security.
The Fiat 500L Adventurer is a mod-painted five-seater with additional equipment enabling it to be a soft-roader. Larger eighteen-inch wheels give it a bit of additional ground clearance and a set of Mopar roof rails with a basket add extra cargo capacity. The interior features suede Katzkin seats and orange accents to match the exterior, as well as a seatback coat hanger, doorsill guards and a cargo organizer. The Fiat 500L Adventurer also sports a small bump in performance thanks to a Mopar cold-air kit and exhaust.
Jeep’s Cherokee Trail Carver shows off a sizeable array of upgrades available for the new Cherokee. Intake and exhaust mods boost the horsepower, while the interior shows off cargo-organization rails for mounting a variety of accessories, a rear cargo organizer with an emergency kit and a wireless smartphone charger. The Trail Carver can also be a wi-fi hotspot. About the only part on this truck that’s not an available accessory is the cargo basket on the roof, and Mopar will probably produce that too if there’s enough interest.
The Chrysler 300S is the latest in a long line of handsomely modified 300 sedans. This time around, Chrysler’s flagship sedan has been lowered and given twenty-inch bronze-finish wheels for a menacing look. An updated thirteen-bar grille and SRT spoiler keep things subtle. Inside, the “Imported from Detroit” logo has been embossed on the leather seats and the chrome trim has been replaced with satin black or bronze.
Mopar plans to display sixteen other vehicles at SEMA as well. Fans who can’t make it to Las Vegas will be able to check them out at a live broadcast from the brand’s website: http://www.mopar.com/sema.
