Pre-release photos of the 2015 C-Class AMG recently turned up on the German Mercedes-Benz Passion forum, showing what the latest C-Class will look like after AMG gets done with it. There aren’t many surprises with the leaked images, but it does confirm that the new C-Class’ more substantial look will make quite the handsome and aggressive sports sedan.
AMG’s signature large mesh-style air intakes dominate the front end, and the two-bar grille with a large Mercedes logo in the center is reminiscent of the SLS AMG and other fast Benz products. Side skirts and a rear apron with dual exhaust are also included. Five-spoke eighteen-inch wheels upgrade the contact patch. Polished aluminum trim, a coupe-like look and a suspension lowered by about 15mm are also visible, according to Mercedes-Benz Passion.
No word yet on the actual performance hardware. Will AMG stick to its familiar format and shoehorn a V8 in there, or will it continue the trend toward more efficient power and find a way to get the twin-turbo four-cylinder that’s driving the CLA45 AMG in there? There are rumors of an all-new 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 that splits the difference between those two extremes, as well. We’ll have to wait a few weeks to find out. Mercedes is expected to reveal the new C-Class AMG at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
