The Z4 GT3 won’t be the only compact BMW on the track for long. The recently introduced 2-Series will join the brand’s ranks soon, and the company has released a video of the M235i undergoing some final track testing. To date the car has only been spotted in spy photos and a rendering released by the company.
The M version of the 2-Series coupe is distinctly upgraded from the base car, with a wider track and the M Division’s trademark deep lower air intakes. It’s got the purposeful look of the dearly departed M3, as well. In the video, the M235i sports a race-prepared interior including a full roll cage, and BMW says the car will be aimed at racers on a budget in Europe thanks to a 59,500-Euro price.
Street specifications for the M235i include a 326-horsepower straight-six, eighteen-inch wheels and an M Sport suspension that’s lowered by ten millimeters. The suspension is also adaptive, and Launch Control is a part of the package. Preliminary 0-60 times are in the five-second range.
