Have you ever wanted to be one of the craftsmen who spends forty to eighty hours hand-assembling some of the finest cars in the world? Rolls-Royce is seeking candidates for its Apprenticeship Programme, beginning in August of next year. The company will hire apprentices to work with its skilled leather, wood, paint, engineering and assembly craftsmen to learn the trade, just like pre-industrial apprenticeships.
The Apprenticeship Programme started in 2006, and is available to students age 16-24. Rolls-Royce’s apprenticeship opportunities last up to four years, and work in conjunction with local colleges to combine on-the-job training with traditional schooling. A graduate program also brings some of the apprentices on board as full employees once their schooling is done. Business apprenticeships have also been added to the program.
Of course, a stringent selection process is required. Rolls-Royce is as careful about selecting its employees as it is the leather that goes into its products. Interested candidates can apply at www.rolls-roycemotorcars.com/careers. The deadline is January 31, 2014.
“I am delighted to announce the start of recruitment for this year’s apprenticeship programme,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Our new apprentices will join a British luxury manufacturing success story and will be ideally positioned to take advantage of the unique opportunities available at Rolls-Royce.”
