Paul Walker’s tragic death turned some eyes to his car collection; in addition to starring in the “Fast and Furious” movies, Walker was quite the gearhead himself. Many Hollywood luminaries are car guys at heart, and some of the most impressive collections in the world belong to stars of stage and screen. Check out the top 5:
Jay Leno: Almost certainly the best-known of the modern celebrity collectors, Jay Leno’s collection is so well-known that it’s got its own website and video series. The former “Tonight Show” host has between 100 and 200 cars and is known for his eclectic taste and meticulous restoration projects, as well as some truly wild customs. Leno’s living every car guy’s “if I had a million dollars” fantasy.
Jerry Seinfeld: Seinfeld is known for his Porsche-heavy multi-million-dollar collection, housed in four garages in Manhattan. Like Leno, he’s also taken his enthusiasm to the Web, with his “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” series.
Tim Allen: What is it about comedians and cars? Tim Allen is another not-so-closeted gearhead, with a collection focusing on big American engines, and includes muscle cars, rat rods and classic sports cars. Allen has been quoted as saying he’s got one of every car he had a model of as a kid.
Rowan Atkinson: The British star of “Mr. Bean” and “Blackadder” has a car collection said to be worth over 7 million pounds, and it includes an ultra-rare McLaren F1 and a number of rare classics outfitted for racing. Atkinson uses his cars as well–his McLaren had to be rebuilt after a spin and crash in 2011.
Bill Goldberg: Former pro wrestler and “Garage Mahal” host Bill Goldberg stands out from this group in that he’s not a comic. His collection is serious as well, consisting of about twenty vehicles, mostly muscle cars. Goldberg’s cars are restored drivers, and he’s known for buying cars in need and refurbishing them.
Morbidly, it’s worth noting that Leno, Seinfeld and Allen all own Porsche Carrera GTs–the car Walker was killed in. Let’s hope they drive them safely! Atkinson, on the other hand, is on record as saying he’ll never own a Porsche as they’re not to his taste.
