Winnebago’s new Trend Class C motorhome, one of the first motorhomes to ride on the new Ram ProMaster chassis, has debuted to critical acclaim, including RV Business Magazine’s “Top 2014 RV Debut” award.
The twenty three-foot Trend is a lightweight Class C motorhome, one of the first to ride on the front-wheel drive Ram ProMaster van chassis. It sleeps up to four and includes a number of cutting-edge space-conservation innovations, including a powered studio bed that raises up to the ceiling to conserve space and energy-saving LED lighting. It’s joined by the nearly identical Itasca Viva!, produced by Winnebago’s sister brand. RV Business Magazine selected the vehicles based on their creative development and impressive fuel economy. The Trend and Viva! are expected to attract younger buyers , thanks to a low 9350-pound curb weight, easy-to-drive road manners and an attractive $88,652 starting price.
Winnebago also offers a Class B van camper based on the ProMaster, the Travato. Expect more Ram-based RVs as the year goes on and more of the innovative ProMaster chassis-cab models hit the streets. As the RV market rebounds, Winnebago is doing well. Reuters reports that the company’s profits are up 51% for 2013.
