With the official unveiling of the Q50 Eau Rouge just days away, Infiniti has released the first photos of the concept car, which takes influence from Infiniti’s Formula One cars. The new car shows off dramatically curved carbon composite body panels with revised aerodynamics developed in tandem with the Red Bull Racing F1 team.
The Eau Rouge Q50 is wider and lower, sharing only the doors and roof with the production model. A deep carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser give the car a road-racing ready look. Twenty-one inch wheels and a dual exhaust are the visible working components, and of course the car’s draped in exotic red paint.
“From our shared passion for performance with Infiniti Red Bull Racing grew a collective desire to produce a vision of what a high-performance Infiniti Q50 could look like,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Executive Design Director of Infiniti. “The design has a number of distinctive Formula One inspired touches. In particular, the sculpted front wing assembly and the rear aerodynamic packaging take their cues from the RB9 race car,” he added.
That’s as much as Infiniti has revealed so far. For the rest of the story, we’ll have to wait until the press conference on January 14.
