The SEMA award for “Hottest Car and Truck” has been given to the Ford Mustang and Ford F-Series vehicles, as of November 5, 2013. This award is given to the vehicles most often featured by SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) members at its weeklong show in Las Vegas, NV.
Prior to this show’s opening, officials from SEMA toured the vehicle displays, making a count of the different 2013 and 2014 cars and trucks exhibited in the massive aftermarket expo. The popularity of the For Mustangs and F-Series was plain to see as the most displayed vehicles, far surpassing any others.
Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service, John Felice, had this to say: “Ford was the first automaker to share detailed vehicle specs with SEMA members. Thirty years later, we’re proud that more aftermarket accessories and parts are created for Ford vehicles than for any other automaker.”
SEMA says that the aftermarket parts world is now a $31 billion industry creating over 1 million jobs in America.
