When the Ram ProMaster debuted last year, offering a versatile, strong chassis-cab version
and space-saving front-wheel drive, it was only a matter of time before the new van, which
replaces the archaic Ram Van, would be upfitted. One of the first manufacturers to take
advantage of the new Ram is Itasca, who has introduced the Viva! Class C motorhome on the
ProMaster chassis. Itasca’s parent company, Winnebago, also offers a ProMaster-based RV,
the Trend. Itasca is the first to use the ProMaster’s powerful 3.6 liter V6 gasoline
engine.
The all-new Viva! sports Itasca’s signature style and a wide range of features that pack
maximum efficiency into its short and maneuverable 23-foot length. The Viva! seats up to
six, and includes Ram’s UConnect infotainment center, a backup camera, and swiveling front
seats that can be used as guest seating when the vehicle is parked.
In the living area, a choice of dinette and hide-a-bed styles, and a king-size rear bed or a
corner bed at the rear with a StudioLoft bed up front. The queen-size StudioLoft bed raises
electrically to the roof, so it’s out of the way. Other house features include a shaded
skylight, a self-cleaning retractable shower door, powered awning, LED lighting throughout
and a low-profile air conditioner. Itasca’s optional Marbella cabinets and Ultraleather-
upholstered furniture offer a rich and comfortable environment.
The Viva! is a fully self-contained RV, with on-board water and waste water tanks. The
holding tanks feature electric heating pads and pipe wraps for winter usage. A high-
efficiency tankless water heater, deep-cycle batteries, 2800-watt gas generator, and full
bathroom and galley are also standard. Pricing starts at $88,652.
