Driving Fans reported last week that Buick would bring the Mini-sized Opel Adam to our continent from Europe and give it the “Buick treatment” (grille, engines, amenities, etc.). That idea has apparently been quashed by one of General Motors’ Ivory Tower types, for the foreseeable future, at least. However in a new development, GM plans to import the all-new Opel Cascada convertible to North America, likely within the next couple of years. The BMW 3-Series-size Cascada is already dressed up in luxury garb, but would likely be powered by one of GM’s turbo-four-cylinder powerplants. And if you’re wondering about the Buick-ization of the Cascada’s name once it arrives here, Driving Fans’ best guess is . . . Riviera.
