Ram and National Geographic have teamed up to launch a new photography book entitled, “The Farmer in All of Us: An American Portrait” this holiday season. The book will be in retail stores by late spring of 2014, but is available already at www.ramtrucks.com/outfitter for $45.
Many of the images in this 300 page coffee table book were commissioned by Ram Truck and inspired by Paul Harvey’s essay, ‘So God Made a Farmer.’ Quite a few were part of Ram’s Super Bowl commercial, “Farmer.” Buying this book helps fund Ram Truck’s minimum donation of $25,000 to the “Give the Gift of Blue” program which is part of the national FFA Organization’s way to provide traditional FFA blue corduroy jackets to its members who cannot afford them.
“Supporting farmers isn’t just about those who till the soil, it’s about reminding America who we are and where our greatness comes from. This book truly brings the ‘Farmer’ story to life, and continues to give back in support of the amazing students of the FFA who embody this spirit every day,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, Chrysler Group, LLC.
Inspired by Paul Harvey’s essay, ten renowned photographers were sent to America’s farming communities for three weeks in search of the heart of the American farmer. Originally this project was solely for use in the two minute commercial shown during Super Bowl XLVII.
This book expands upon the ideas seen in the video, has a forward by Paul Harvey, Jr., and stories of the adventures had by the photographers. See the spirit of the American farmer in more than 240 photographs, which hope to inspire the next generation of farmers by showing the sacrifice, dignity and fellowship that comes with hard work and a job well done.
Clay Sapp, President of the National FFA Organization said, “It is so exciting to see a collection of these stunning images together in one book. ‘The Farmer in All of Us’ truly represents the soul of the American farmer. We are grateful to Ram for supporting the ‘Give the Gift of Blue’ program and helping ensure each member of the FFA has the ability to own their own blue corduroy jacket.”
